Our Mission: Food as Medicine
The Food for Health was created explicitly for the purpose of empowering consumers to make healthier food choices as defined by each individual's medical conditions and wellness goals. Our mission is to integrate nutrition in health through food as medicine.
Food for Health provides recommendations for foods, beverages, and supplements in the treatment or prevention of disease based upon unbiased, third-party, peer-reviewed clinical studies. We are committed to improve individual health by inspiring and rewarding incremental change towards more nutritious, delicious, and efficacious foods with minimal perceived consumer "pain" associated with "diets" and "healthy" foods. This applies to packaged goods, recipes, and restaurant items.
Food for Health will learn individual taste profiles to recommend foods that satiates while providing superior nutrition and efficacy. Consumer demand for healthier food will drive manufacturers, producers, and farmers to deliver better ingredients resulting in a healthier food ecosystem and the betterment of humanity at large.
We are also devoted to providing access to Food for Health to benefit underprivileged people in the SNAP program as greater nutrition reduces hunger and improves health outcomes.
Finally, we are committed to actuarially proving the financial benefits of food as medicine to health plans as we build data around food consumption, habit transformation, biometric markers, and health outcomes resulting in decreased healthcare costs and increased funding for innovation in food as medicine for disease prevention.
